How to Store Thai Herbal Balms and Aromatic Oils in Hot Weather

Thai herbal balms and aromatic oils are compact, but tropical heat and careless handling can affect their texture, packaging and labels. Good storage is mostly about controlling temperature, keeping containers closed and preventing contamination.

Follow the package storage statement first

Manufacturer directions take priority over general advice. Check the retail box or jar for temperature, light and handling instructions. If a product arrives with a damaged seal or leaking container, do not treat that as normal heat softening.

Keep balms away from direct heat

Do not leave jars on a sunny windowsill or inside a parked vehicle. Heat can soften a balm and make the lid or surrounding packaging messy. Store products upright in a stable, shaded place unless the label specifies otherwise.
