Formula and function

• Black glutinous rice is the identifying botanical of the Black formula. AloEx pairs it with lemon, lavender, rosemary, chamomile, burdock and other herbal extracts.

How to use

1. Massage the Black Shampoo into wet scalp and hair, then rinse thoroughly.
2. Spread the mask through damp hair and, if desired, onto the scalp. For a treatment, leave for 3–5 minutes, then rinse.
3. Towel dry gently and style. Both products in this set are rinse-out steps.

The two steps in this set

Step 1 — Black Shampoo: cleanse the wet scalp and roots, allowing the rinse to carry product through the hair. The black-glutinous-rice formula is oriented towards dry or chemically processed hair. Lemon, lavender and the supporting botanical blend give the Black range its characteristic aromatic profile.

Step 2 — Natural Hair Mask: condition after the shampoo has been rinsed out. Gently squeeze excess water from the lengths, spread the cream evenly, and pay particular attention to rough ends. AloEx permits scalp application, but the quantity can be concentrated on the lengths if the roots become heavy easily. Rinse the mask out completely before drying.

Getting a softer, more manageable finish

The two products perform complementary jobs: the wash removes surface residue, and the cream helps reduce snagging and combing friction. Use gentle fingertip movements at the scalp and detangle from the ends upwards. A wide-tooth comb and careful towel blotting help preserve the smoother feel without pulling on wet hair.
