Counterpain Cool is a cooling topical gel for targeted massage of muscles and joints. Its gel texture spreads over intact skin and gives a distinctly cool sensation, making it different from the warming Original cream.

Formula and application sensation

The manufacturer identifies levomenthol 4% as the active ingredient in the Cool gel. Menthol creates a cooling sensation on the skin. This formula is different from the Original warming cream; choose the product by its name and colour coding rather than treating the two formulas as interchangeable.

How to use

Read the tube and leaflet before use. Apply a small amount to clean, dry, unbroken skin and massage gently over the intended area. Follow the frequency and age restrictions printed on the supplied pack. Wash hands after applying and avoid touching your face or eyes.

Precautions specific to topical massage products

For external use only. Avoid eyes, mouth, mucous membranes and broken, irritated or damaged skin. Do not use with a heating pad, hot compress or tight occlusive dressing. Stop if marked irritation occurs. Keep out of reach of children. Ask a pharmacist before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for a child, or if you have a relevant allergy.
