L’Oréal Paris Elseve Extraordinary Oil Éclat Impérial is a leave-in oil-serum with French rose oil, made for hair that needs a smoother surface, more shine and a fragrant finishing touch. In the Extraordinary Oil family, this rose-focused version turns the finishing step into part of the hair’s scent routine as well as its care routine. It suits dull, frizz-prone lengths and ends that need softness and polish.
Formula and feel
Its lightweight base combines isododecane with caprylic/capric triglyceride and dicaprylyl ether. Dimethicone, dimethiconol and phenyl trimethicone provide slip and a smooth, glossy feel; trimethylsiloxysilicate contributes a film-forming element. The official formula lists sunflower and coconut oils, rose flower oil, and extracts of chamomile, rose, lotus and linseed flowers. These sit within a complete cosmetic oil-serum formula rather than a bottle of undiluted rose oil.
The intended finish is soft, smooth and shiny, with a noticeable fragrance. Rose oil and the listed fragrance ingredients make scent part of this product’s identity. Start lightly, especially on fine hair, so you can polish the ends without over-applying. The formula contains fragrance allergens including benzyl salicylate, hexyl cinnamal, citronellol and linalool.
How to use
- Dispense a small amount into the palms and rub the hands together gently to distribute it.
- Smooth through the hair’s lengths and ends. Leave in when using as a finishing or overnight care step.
- Add only a little more where the hair still feels rough. The official routine also allows use before shampooing, before blow-drying or before styling.
Use after your normal shampoo and conditioner when you want a smoother finish, or between washes to refresh dry ends. Avoid contact with the eyes; rinse immediately with clean water if contact occurs.
