Restoria Discreet Colour Restoring Cream is a leave-in progressive hair colourant for gradually darkening the appearance of grey hair. This is the lead-acetate cream formulation, distinct from Restoria shampoo and newer formulas sold in some markets.

Formula & composition

Contains lead acetate and sulfur in a conditioning cream base with water, glycerin and cetearyl alcohol. The reference label also lists ammonium chloride, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium cetearyl sulfate, fragrance and denatonium benzoate. This is a hair-colouring product, not an ordinary styling cream.

How to use

Use only as directed in the enclosed instructions. Apply a small amount to dry hair, concentrating on grey areas, then style as usual. Leave in; do not immediately rinse out. The label describes daily application during the initial 2–3-week period, followed by less frequent maintenance once the preferred shade is reached. Colour development varies. Wash hands thoroughly after every application.

Precautions & storage

Contains lead acetate. For external adult use only. Do not swallow. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes, and do not apply to broken or irritated skin. Do not use on eyelashes, eyebrows or facial hair. Follow the package colour/skin-test instructions before use. Stop using if irritation occurs. Keep the bottle tightly closed and store away from heat and direct sunlight.
